Thai/Shiatsuis different from Western massage. Thai/Shiatsu massage is done on a padded mat on the floor with clients fully clothed and no oils are used. The practitioner uses hands, elbows, palms and fingers to apply vertical pressure, joint rotations and stretches release tight muscles. Stretches are performed with no effort on your part to help create flexibility and balance in the body, both physically and energetically.
Thai/Shiatsu is very effective the gentle touch helps to calm the nervous system, stimulate immune functions, release held tension, and improve digestion. Shiatsu, (pressure) applies traditional Asian theories of the body/mind rather than just working with symptoms. The work leads to gradual reduction of emotional and physical disturbances, improved self-awareness and sense of well-being. Thai is rooted from Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine. This unique and complete system of Yoga therapy combines rhythmic massage, acupressure, gentle twisting, deep stretching and meditation. Thai/Shiatsu Massage releases tension, increases vitality and creates wholeness of mind, body and spirit. Thai/Shiatsu works on a physical, emotional and spiritual plane. The massage is deeply relaxing and has an overall calming effect, allowing the body the opportunity to heal itself.

What should I expect during my visit?
Thai/Shiatsu massage is done on a padded mat on the floor with clients fully clothed. Thus, it is best to wear loose and/or stretchable clothing in which you feel comfortable being moved. A typical session lasts one to one and a half hours, but can also be adapted to your needs and availability.
