101 -FOUNDATIONS OF MLD LYMPH TOUR USA (2-day)

Course Description

A comprehensive “must have” MLD Vodder-style course for all healthcare professionals. Learn about the lymphatic system in an interactive format. You will explore the history of MLD, it’s Founding Fathers and introduction to the United States in the 1980’s by Surgeon Robert Lerner, M.D. for cancer patients.

Instructor Elisa DiFalco worked for Dr. Lerner and was Clinic Director of his LTS Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale. She will take you on a tour on of the A&P of the lymphatic system in a fun, interactive format and introduce you to the indications, contraindications, pathology and assessments necessary when working with lymphatic medical conditions. The tour continues with a hands on lab teaching you to perform a basic full body MLD sequence you can employ immediately to your existing clients and patients. Conclude with general guidelines to compression garments and lymphosize exercises from Germany’s Clinics of Lymphology for optimum self care of the client and outcome preservation.

Manual Lymph Drainage was developed, refined and researched by Dr. Vodder near the turn of the century in Europe. Since then, MLD was made available in European Clinics of Lymphology to treat medical conditions and offered at elite spas for wellness and cosmetic beauty. It recently has climbed to the 4^thmost requested modality in the United States for it’s use in the plastic surgery industry.

Course Description

Manual Lymph Drainage was developed, refined and researched by Dr. Vodder near the turn of the century in Europe. His original work began with the Head, Neck & Face for the sinusitis conditions and was later expanded as a full body protocol. Since then, MLD was made available in European Clinics of Lymphology to treat medical conditions and offered at the elite spas of Europe for anti-aging and wellness. Whether you desire to work in the medical industry or spa and med-spa, Lymphlift of the Head, Neck & Face will be a welcome addition to the menu.

First we discuss the anatomy and physiology of the lymph system of the face and the benefits of MLD for the treatment of conditions, wellness, anti-aging, as well as for cosmetic procedures and surgeries. Then explore the indications and contraindications of MLD for prospective clients. The hands on portion of the lab will be exciting as it will give you the 15 minute “add on” protocol when combining MLD into a massage or facial routine as well as the 50 minute Lymphlift which is utilized when treating conditions such as: acne, rosacea, under eye swelling & bruising, cosmetic surgery, sinusitis, headaches, bell’s palsy and more.

Lymphlift of the Head, Neck and Face is the second most requested protocol in both the medical and spa setting and serves as a great compliment to the skill of all licensed practitioners in the industry.

104 – Mommy and Me (1-day)

Course Description

Prerequisite MLD 101

This upper level course explores the lymphodynamics of pregnancy. Learn how and why MLD offers edema mgt. for “barefoot & pregnant” while addressing mother’s stress, stretch marks and constipation. In addition, discover the benefits of MLD to shed excess fluid weight and promote healing for both vaginal and C-section’s post-delivery. Then learn why physicians have recommend MLD’s conservative approach for common childhood illnesses, conditions and autoimmune issues in Europe for a century. Begin learning how to document your pt./client’s progress with assessments used in our LTS clinic.

*Pregnancy protocol is also used on obese, joint replacements and clients unable to lie in the prone position.

105 – MLD Lymphosize: Sports, Surgery & Scars(1-day)

Course Description

Prerequisite MLD 101

European athletes have known the benefits of MLD for peak performance and optimum recovery from. Sports, not only requires MLD delivery, but excellent documentation, standardized measuring skills for compression garments, precision bandaging and knowledge of post-recovery lymphosize covered in the Advanced Level Course. *Assessment form from LTS Clinic included.

106 – Sensory Integrated MLD for Pain Mgt., Palliative Care (Hospice) (1-day)

Course Description

Prerequisite MLD 101

It is recommended, MLD be performed in a “spa-like” setting, especially when working in pain mgt., palliative care & hospice. Understand why this approach best serves these populations utilizing research from foremost leaders in color, sound and aromatherapy (Debroah Sharpe, Ph.d, Mitchell Gaynor, M.D.).
